TUCSON, Ariz., Dec 02, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Tucson Electric Power (TEP) will be presenting Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) with the first rebate issued through the company's new Commercial Energy Solutions program.
TUSD's Brichta Elementary, 2110 W. Brichta Drive, earned the rebate by installing energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs and approximately 340 new fluorescent light fixtures. School officials estimate the new lights will reduce the school's electric bills by $4,000 to $5,000 per year.
TEP will present TUSD with a $6,183.25 rebate during the district's Awards & Recognition Ceremony, which will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Townsend Middle School, 2120 N. Beverly Blvd.
Commercial Energy Solutions, which launched this fall, offers cash rebates to commercial customers who install efficient lighting and controls, air conditioning, heat pumps and other energy-saving equipment.
The program has three components, including the Large Business, the Small Business and the New Construction programs. TUSD's Brichta Elementary participated in the Large Business program. Complete details about the incentives available to TEP's commercial and residential customers are listed at tep.com.
